About this dataset

SCIDAC 128 SG5 is the 64-member Phase-1 CRK-HACC calibration suite. Every member evolves 2 × 5123 dark-matter and initial baryon tracers in a 128 Mpc/h box with the same realization of a fixed Planck-like cosmology. This common realization controls cosmic sample variance across the ensemble, although the subgrid prescriptions themselves remain stochastic.

Five quantities vary across a symmetric Latin hypercube: wind-velocity scaling, wind energy, black-hole seed mass, kinetic-feedback velocity, and kinetic-feedback efficiency. The symmetric design distributes the 64 samples across the five-dimensional parameter space while balancing each parameter about the design center.

At z = 0, 0.1, 0.5, 1, and 2, the portal exposes halo catalogs, spherical-overdensity profiles, halo particles, galaxy catalogs, merger-offset selections, and HAvoCC analyses. The associated emulator study used the z = 0 suite outputs to calibrate against the galaxy stellar mass function, cluster gas-density profiles, and cluster gas fractions. One registry entry addresses the full suite; query parameters select or aggregate its members.
